This week’s talk: Gut commensal colonization via activation of TLR2

Hi everyone!

For our first week back I will be presenting a paper entitled “The Toll-like receptor 2 pathway establishes colonization by a commensal of the human microbiota”.  This paper by Round, et. al, published in May of this year, demonstrates how a gut commensal organism, Bacteroides fragilis signals through TLR2 via polysaccharide A to promote immunologic tolerance and subsequent colonization of the gut mucosa.

The meeting will be in HSC 2J14 at 3:30 pm this Thursday, October 20.

See you all there!
