Journal club: microbiome meets human immunology.

In this week’s journal club Mike Dorrington (PhD student in the Bowdish laboratory and resident immunology expert) will examine the important interactions between the microbiome and our immune systems by examining this study on the interactions between human dendritic cells and bacteria in the airway microbiota.  May 10th @ 3:30pm, HSC-3N44A.

    Have you seen this paper? Regulation of intenstinal microflora after allogenic bone marrow transplant. Basically after transplanting a new immune system you get “chaos” in the intestinal microflora, in theory due to the fact that our microflora is “farmed” by our immune system. Might make a neat paper to read.
